The tenth National Student Business Plan Competition is now underway – testing the flair and entrepreneurship of students preparing for a career in community pharmacy.

The Pharmacy Guild of Australia’s 2016 competition was launched during the Annual NAPSA Congress in Townsville. Team captain of the 2015 winning entry, Lauren Haworth from University of Tasmania, launched the competition by detailing her experience to her fellow students. “‘I now know what knowledge and skills are required for owning a pharmacy. It is a whole other world; a whole new skill set. This competition gives you a glimpse into whether or not ownership is for you, whether you are made of the right stuff to be able to dedicate your time, tears and passion to a community pharmacy business,” Lauren said.

The competition aims to encourage student teams to use their ideas, talents and energy to create innovative new business ideas in community pharmacy through the development of competitive business plans.
