A recently commissioned report funded by Amneal Pharmaceuticals, and conducted by McCrindle Research shows that community pharmacies are friendly, professional and an integral part of healthcare services

A key focus of the report measured consumers understanding and opinions towards the changing role of pharmacists and community pharmacies in the healthcare system.

The report shows that pharmacists are highly trusted in the community, with many respondents likely to recommend their local pharmacy to a friend or colleague,

Social researcher, Mark McCrindle will present the complete findings of the 2017 Healthy Future Report on Friday 10 March at APP2017.

2017 National Student Business Plan Competition

​The eleventh National Student Business Plan Competition is now underway – testing the flair and entrepreneurship of students preparing for a career in community pharmacy.

The competition aims to encourage student teams to use their talents and energy to create innovative new business ideas in community pharmacy through the development of competitive business plans.

  1.  Submit your Business Plan  12 May 2017 
  2. Quarter Finals  29 June - 7 July 2017 
  3. Semi Finals (including preliminary pitch)  24 July - 11 August 2017 
  4.  Finals: Live 'Pitch'  2 September 2017 
  5. Finals: Post 'Pitch' Investor Meeting  2 September 2017 

Access resources for the 2017 competition 

The competition, which commenced in 2006, encourages innovation among pharmacy students who will be the future owners of Australian and New Zealand community pharmacies. In 2017 the focus on innovation will continue, to ensure that tomorrow’s owners look for highly differentiated services that they can provide to the Australian and New Zealand markets.

The National Student Business Plan Competition is open to all students studying pharmacy in Australia and New Zealand and will provide a total of $15,000 in cash prizes to the finalists (top three teams) in addition to registration, flights and accommodation to attend the Guild’s 2017 Pharmacy Connect conference.

T​he Quality Care Pharmacy Program is excited to be launching an improved QCPP from 1 July this year.

The enhanced QCPP Requirements will be less complex, more robust and provide greater continuity. The revision promotes flexibility, innovation and growth in pharmacy businesses.

Discover the QCPP improvements online from early March at www.qcpp.com and at APP2017 from 9 to 12 March – the QCPP team will be introducing the enhancements at Stand 75.
